A long story short!
The Club Culinaire is a non-profit organization of chefs, pastry chefs, bakers, cooks, wine stewards, restaurant owners and purveyors specializing in fine cuisine, gourmet products, wines and spirits as well as Friends of the Club who enjoy the dining experience.
The Club was founded in May 1980 in San Francisco by five chefs: Victor de Lange, Philippe Hollebecq, Pierre Morin, Marcel Pailhes and René Verdon. A few months later, Michel Blanchet, Denise Bouché, Jean-Jacques Bouché, Camille Crochet, Bernard Jacoupy, Willie Mattice, Maurice Peguet, Michel Richard and René Robin established the Southern California Chapter.
Today the Club Culinaire of Southern California has grown to over 150 members from Santa Barbara to San Diego. Together they promote the art of dining and represent the finest in the profession. They bring the Southern California the best of traditional and modern cuisine.
The Club organizes yearly events open to the public such as the Picnic des Chefs, Bistro and Chef A Table dinner series and the Holiday Gala.
It proudly supports the Concern Foundation, the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles HOPE Program, California Medical Hospital Foundation Center and the M.E.G. Foundation in India, where a kitchen has been built to feed orphaned children.
