Club Culinaire of French Cuisine

The Club Culinaire supports a good number of charities such as the Concern Foundation and the HOPE Program at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles as well as the MEG Foundation which builds orphanages in India. Other charities include: Share Our Strength, California Hospital Medical Foundation Center, Upward Bound House, to name a few, in order to build stronger communities.

Concern Foundation

Since 1968, Concern Foundation has raised well over $41 million dollars to cultivate outstanding young scientists and to sustain the progress in prevention and treatment of cancer.

Thanks to the generosity of Concern’s loyal donors, there are presently 52 researchers supported by a “CONquer canCER Now” grant, endowment or special research initiative. These outstanding investigators are furthering their expertise in 13 different areas of cancer research at leading institutions in California, the United States, and around the world.

Concern Foundation is a rarity in the nonprofit world as it maintains an administrative overhead of 5% or less. About 95 cents of every dollar go toward research. This is made possible primarily because it’s volunteer driven.

The Club Culinaire is happy to announce that it has contributed $50,000 to date and has helped raise additional funds through its participation in the Annual Block Party at Paramount Studios as well as the LA Marathon.

The Hope Program

The HOPE Program provides support for young people with cancer and blood diseases, and their families. as well as compassionate psychosocial care and support for patients diagnosed and treated in our Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases.

We use our experience supporting patients over the past 30 years to create new and innovative approaches to psychosocial care, and in concert with the caregivers in our Center, work to reduce suffering and improve quality of life for our patients.

The program mission is to develop and coordinate a complete range of culturally sensitive psychosocial services and educational activities for young people with cancer or blood diseases, their families, professionals, and the community; and to provide leadership and coordination in psychosocial health outcomes research with this population. The Club Culinaire is happy to have contributed over $40,000 to their cause.

California Hospital Medical Center Foundation

Since its inception in 1990, the chef-members of the Club Culinaire have been in charge of the cuisine for La Grande Affaire, which draws 500 of Los Angeles’ top business and community leaders in support of California Hospital Medical Center. Held every third Thursday of November, which coincides with the release of the Beaujolais Nouveau, this distinctive event features a silent and live auction with delectable hors d’oeuvres, a five-course feast, live musical entertainment and of course, a Beaujolais Nouveau tasting. The backdrop is the Crystal Ballroom at the Biltmore Hotel, arguably the most spectacular location for this black-tie gala. 2015 will mark 25 years of La Grande Affaire! Till date the event raised over 6 million dollars; every penny is used to improve the hospital and its services to the least fortunate.
